ESET NOD32 problems..
May 22nd, 2008
Many users of either ESET Smart Security or NOD32 Anti-virus were beset with major problems today after an update caused computers to freeze and/or gave false positives for viruses.
Users of Adobe CS3 products were amongst those worst hit by the Anti-Virus problem as it flagged files concerned with the licensing of the programs as viruses, making it impossible to run them. Those who deleted the ‘offending’ files faced long repair/re-installation problems.
Many other non-Adobe programs also showed false positives, and other computers simply froze.
ESET is working on these problems and up-to-date information is available
here.
